Rights Options

The ClosedRights Options property box contains settings for the Assign Rights activity. It determines how the activity will assign Laserfiche rights to, or remove them from, a Laserfiche entry.

To configure Rights Options

  1. Add the Assign Rights activity to your workflow definition by dragging it from the Toolbox Pane and dropping it in the Designer Pane.
  2. Select the activity in the Designer Pane.
  3. Click any of the icons under Rights Options in the Properties Pane to open the ClosedRights Options dialog box.

  4. Under Action, choose whether rights will be assigned or removed.
  5. Under User / Group, enter which user or group this activity will be applied to. Click to use tokens. To choose from a list of users or groups, click Choose to open the ClosedSelect Trustee dialog box. More info.

  6. Under Access Rights, select the rights that will be added and/or removed. Click Allow to enable a right and Deny to disable a right. An answer is not required for each right.
  7. Click Inherit rights from parent if you want repository children to inherit their parent's rights.
  8. Example: If the Finances folder contains the Tax Documents folder, the Finances folder is the parent of the Tax Documents folder.

  9. Under Rights assigned to this entry will apply to, select the most appropriate option. The drop-down choice "immediate children" refers to entries that are one level down from a parent.
  10. Example: If the Tax Documents folder contains the 2007 Taxes document, the 2007 Taxes document is the Tax Documents folder's immediate child. If the Tax Documents folder also contains the Tax Exemption Documents folder, and the Tax Exemption Documents folder contains the 2007 Tax Exemptions document, the 2007 Tax Exemptions document is a child, though not an immediate child, of the Tax Documents folder.
